Celebrate Balloons!

My Balloon Framelits have been sitting on my desk for an embarrassingly long time, waiting for me to be inspired. Last week, it finally happened! This isn't a complicated card, by any means, but I quite like it. I chose two prints from the Cherry on Top DSP stack, then created the other pattern with the new Tip Top Taupe cardstock and ink, with the Stripes mask. I like the contrast! I couldn't capture it in the photo, but I turned over the balloons and burnished them with a stylus. They have a lot of dimension in real life.

This simple card uses 2 different patterns from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack. It's a great choice for spring, and the color combinations are fun! Inspired by the DSP, I combined Mossy Meadow (a 2014-16 In Color) with Pistachio Pudding (a 2013-2015 In Color).

I decided to show you my first version of this card, which I made at the end of a long stamping session, when I was tired. {smile} It was super simple but fine for my purpose, which was to show the Hello You Thinlits. Unfortunately, when I was cleaning some extra glue from behind the "thanks," I smudged the "so much." Sigh. So I decided to use Strawberry Slush (picked up from the strip of All Abloom) to re-stamp the sentiment and add it over top. Here's the original:

I like the second version (at the top of this post) SO MUCH better! (See what I did there?) That little pop of color really brightened up the card and made it more fun.

Irresistible in the Garden

It was really difficult to get a good picture of this card! As you know, I'm a big fan of yellow, so of course I had to try Crushed Curry on the Irresistibly Yours DSP! Then I thought the little flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack coordinated so well with the flowers on the print, so I added a few punched from vellum scraps. I used the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities to color tiny pearls for the center of each punched flower.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is really the star of the show here, so I let it shine! This paper is so versatile! Make sure you get yours before Sale-a-bration is over!

I'm a bit stuck on this color combination right now: Black, White, and Coastal Cabana. Yummy!  I'm trying to channel my "hungry" into crafting, so, yummy colors, it is!

Gift card framelit--happy acorn version

Do you give a lot of gift cards? I do, particularly to males in my extended family. When I first saw the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits (whew! long name!) in the Holiday Catalog, I knew it needed to come to my house. These go together so quickly, and I love that I can make a somewhat impersonal gift a *little* more special.

For this version, I used the Color Me Autumn DSP for the main envelope. You will want to use the Crease Pad to do this, as the DSP is thin enough that the die cuts through the score lines. The "Happy Day" sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set--one I go back to again and again. The matching Bitty Banners framelits (what else?) make it easy and quick.

Christmas is coming quickly, and if you'll be giving gift cards, think about adding the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits to your next order!

Dropbox and Flamingo Lingo

The laptop is ordered! Can't wait to have it all set up and fixed to my personal weirdness. Anybody want to do that part????  I'm so glad I had (nearly) everything important stored in my Dropbox files! It's a free online storage site that has saved me many times! I can access the files from any computer or mobile device. If you'd like to sign up, click here, and we'll both receive 500 MB of free space! They don't bug me with emails or anything. I love flamingos! If my family let me, I'd have pink flamingos all over the front lawn. (The plastic kind of flamingos, not real ones. Although that would be very cool for me, not so much for the birds.) When I saw this year's Ronald McDonald House Benefit set, Flamingo Lingo, I was so happy! We made this card at our August Stamp Club--the 1/4" white cotton ribbon and the Simply Pressed Clay flower are both colored with Melon Mambo Blendabilities!
