Bon Voyage: A Little Birdie Told Me
Welcome to Port of Call #14 on the Stampin' Addicts 2009 Bon Voyage Blog Hop!
Nestled snugly between Ports of Call #13 (Lyssa's creations with Great Grads) and #15 (Renée's creations with Always in My Thoughts), here we explore the fabulous A Little Birdie Told Me!
Tour links are only active through 11:59 pm EST Tuesday June 16; after that, many hostesses will post more details on projects you see today. Bookmark your favorite stops now--on return visits, you'll bypass customs & immigration and go straight to the fun! A complete list of blog participants can be found on the Stampin Addicts website!
My two favorite features of A Little Birdie Told Me are how cute the images are when paper pieced and the wonderful assortment of greetings! So onward to the projects!
3x6 One of a Kind
This card is a made from textured Baja Breeze cardstock. Sometimes that longer canvas is just perfect for a "one of a kind" layout! On the card, I stamped the larger birdie 3 times in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped it again on Slumber Party Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut it out. It's adhered with dimensionals to give it a little extra pop!

Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Flower Fusion Too, Jumbo Brads 5/16" Neutrals
Umbrella in the Window
Paper piecing (again) highlights the umbrella stamp in this set! I used my Wide Oval Punch to make the "window" in the Sweet Bella Designer Series Paper.
The greeting "a little birdie told me" is actually a 3-line stamp, but I thought it would look better stretched out. I used my Chocolate Chip Stampin Write marker to color just the words I wanted, then used the Stampamajig to line them up! Use the Stampajig to make these sentiments fit *any* shape!

A Little Card Candy
As I mentioned, one of my favorite things about A Little Birdie Told Me is *all* the wonderful sentiments! One for every occasion! And if you like greetings for inside your cards, this set is perfect!
I stamped every greeting (and a couple images!) from the set onto Riding Hood Red cardstock. For the Chocolate Chip layer, I used Chocolate Chip Craft ink to stamp the "thank you" from Oval All and embossed it. I think it gives the sentiments a perfect frame! I used dimensionals to mount the "candy" onto the sticker backing from a Stampin Up set. Now they're all ready to pop onto the pre-made cards anytime I need a card!
The card is a 4x4 square made of Riding Hood Red cardstock. I cut 2 1/2" circles out of watercolor paper and stamped the birdie on it. Using the Aquapainter and Riding Hood Red re-inker, I painted my birdies a cheery red! I layered them onto Baja Breeze cardstock die cut with the Scallop Circles #2 die and my Big Shot.

If you've read my blog before, you may know that we raise chickens and ducks on our mini-farm. We just got a new batch of chicks, and my daughter thought her favorite chick needed to be immortalized! LOL The birdies seemed like the perfect stamps!
