July Paper Pumpkin Circles

It's not often that I just make up a kit the way the instructions say, but the July Paper Pumpkin was fabulous! All I added was a bit of twine and some spatters. I loved the wood elements in this kit, as well as the washi tape! It's all so tactile, which is my favorite kind of project!

The last several Paper Pumpkin kits have really knocked it out of the park. There's a great special on right now, if you've never tried Paper Pumpkin before. A self-contained kit arrives every month, and you'll love having the projects prepared for you!

With Paper Pumpkin, you'll save time and money while you build a collection of crafting supplies. Every month you'll receive a unique stamp set with an ink spot (that won't repeat a color in a 12-month period). In no time at all, you'll have a variety of stamps and ink to use on other projects. In addition, your first kit includes a free clear stamping block that you'll use every month.

July Paper Pumpkin Favors

I can always use little favor boxes for treats to give away to friends!

These wonderful diamond-shaped copper favor boxes were part of the July Paper Pumpkin kit. I used part of the included tags to make these. The "you're a gem" stamp is from a previous kit last year. To make the little copper accents, I colored pearls with a Copper Sharpie marker. Now is a great time to pick up the 3-pack of Sharpies when you buy school supplies--gold, silver, and copper! I also used the copper marker to make a border around the tag.

The boxes are filled with individually-wrapped Lifesavers.

August Paper Pumpkin Gift Card Holder

The August Paper Pumpkin has so many yummy goodies! Here, I used one of the gift card pockets and the "for you" stamp. I think I'll use this stamp a LOT. The background embossing is a sneak peek from the new Holiday Catalog, which will go live on Thursday, September 1. It's called Cable Knit. Love it!

Paper Pumpkin Monday: Manly Navy Birthday

The May Paper Pumpkin kit, Many Manly Occasions, is still out on my desk! I love the geometric laser cut card bases, as well as all the masculine stamps. There is a Pumpkin Pie corrugated paper that is meant to be used as the background, but I decided to make this one with a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Night of Navy cardstock.I'm sure the corrugated paper will find its way onto a project soon.

The only "extra" I used that wasn't in the kit was a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Night of Navy cardstock.

Paper Pumpkin Monday: Watercolor Manly Occasions

My  May Paper Pumpkin kit arrived Saturday! I rarely get it so early. I was playing around with the Night of Navy ink spot that came with this kit, Many Manly Occasions, and I ended up adding a bit of water coloring to the edges of the die cut card base. There are also a few spatters across the greeting, but it's hard to see in this photo.

This is a great kit! There are two types of laser-cut card bases:
A great stamp set:
And corrugated Pumpkin Pie cardstock and Pool Party enamel stars:

Paper Pumpkin Monday: March Birthday Sunburst

The March kit (Pocketful of Cheer) came with some great card bases printed with a Pool Party spatter. I cut them up so I could make MORE CARDS! hahaha This card uses one of those card bases underneath the Bermuda Bay Sunburst cut. The sentiment is from a retired Sale-a-bration set, Party Pants. It is the perfect size for this circle layout. The dots were made with my Bermuda Bay marker. Sometimes a little doodling really makes the card shine!

Paper Pumpkin Monday: One Sheet Wonder Technique with All About Everything

One-Sheet-Wonder is a technique that's been around a LONG time! It's one we used to teach to beginning stampers more than a decade ago, and it still makes a beautiful card.

Choose a stamp set--here I used All About Everything, the bonus stamp set in the April Paper Pumpkin kit. You'll want a set with several images, some large and some small. Begin stamping with your largest image, then fill in with gradually smaller stamps. This gives you the best ability to balance out the look. You're really creating your own custom designer paper! You can use the colors most suited to your mood or to the recipient. I used Night of Navy, Marina Mist, Hello Honey (retiring), and Mossy Meadow (retiring).

I used the sketch from the Facebook page Bringing Birthdays Back. #imbringingbirthdaysback

Give it a try! Don't let techniques be intimidating. The worst thing that can happen is that you learn something to do differently next time.

Paper Pumpkin Monday: Watercolor Chalkboard Birthday

The April Paper Pumpkin kit has SO many fun things! I love the free bonus stamp set, All About Everything. I used it here with white craft ink on one of the adorable chalkboard tags included with the wreath kit. The pierced, scalloped border draws the eye to the message on the tag.
The background has been sitting on my desk, waiting for inspiration to strike me. I made it by putting ink (Mint Macaron and Gold Wink of Stella) on a clear acrylic block, spritzing with water, and stamping on watercolor paper. The ink does all the work with this technique!
Thank you for visiting my blog. Come back every Monday for more Paper Pumpkin ideas!

Paper Pumpkin Monday: Circles and Stripes for March 2016

I have been cutting up the large envelopes in the March Paper Pumpkin kit because I love the paper so much! Here, I punched a circle element to add to this mostly stripey card. The Washi tapes are from the In Color hostess set in the Occasions Catalog.

There is always a lot to use in each kit! The stamp set and ink spot are the main features for me, especially since I use my MISTI so much. Ink spots make the MISTI even better! The papers and the "bits and pieces" in each kit always thrill me. I love to see what else I can use them for.
