I've been in a single-layer card mode for awhile now. Not sure if that's a function of my busy-ness or an artistic shift, but I find "clean and simple" creations more restful and more satisfying. A case in point--this card was the end result of about 4 hours of creative chaos in my craft room. I dragged out every supply and every sketch, and I still couldn't make anything I liked. Till this card.
Very few supplies were required (not the disaster you would have found on my work table): just Smoky Slate ink and cardstock, the well-loved Seasonally Scattered stamp set, some rhinestones, and the Filigree Frame embossing folder.
Simple. It makes me happy.
