Freshly Made Sketch in Black and Yellow

Yellow is my favorite color. I've been in a bit of a stamping block, so today I made a few things in my favorite color scheme--yellow, black, and white. This sketch from Freshly Made Sketches has been tickling at my brain, but as usual I was overthinking it. When this card finally came together, it was from bits and pieces left on my stamping table! I love it anyway, especially the greeting from my favorite kit ever, Watercolor Wishes.

Here is the sketch:

So Lucky

Sometimes we forget "old standby" techniques like embossing to create a background. I had been working on this card, but it just needed something else. Then I realized--that cute little flower in the set would make an adorable background! A little Versamark, a little white embossing powder, and voila! All the stamps in this set are from the Ronald McDonald House set Sprinkles of Life.

I made this card with designer papers and stamps from the June kit. Do you love the flower centers??? I put some Multi Glue in the center of each flower, then coiled the new Very Vanilla Thick Baker's Twine in it. I love the texture it gives this card!

Watercolor Wishes Love

When I first saw the Watercolor Wishes Kit in the catalog, I knew I *needed* that stamp set! So I ordered the whole thing, and I'm so happy I did!

Not only are the stamps awesome, but the kit has turned out to be absolutely lovely! I'll be sharing more of these cards in the coming weeks.

Here's a peek at the stamp set:
And here's what the whole kit looks like:

Butterfly thank you

This is a simple card, but it took me a bit of time to put the right elements together. Lately, I seem to be trying to add too much! Sometimes, you just have to let the colors and the dies speak for themselves.

I posted this card on my business Facebook page last week, along with the memory of always wanting my mom to sew my dresses with metallic thread. She didn't, of course. I'm sure it was difficult to sew with, and I think she was a bit horrified at the idea of metallic thread on a little girl's dress. Times have certainly changed!

I'd love it if you would follow my Facebook page! Everything is craft-related, and it's the best way to keep up with specials and fun new ideas! We don't have to be Facebook friends for you to see my business page.

July Paper Pumpkin video!

I LOVE my Paper Pumpkin kits, as you might have noticed.

Why? Because the kits are the best of both worlds:
*completely self-contained--all you might need is scissors
*filled with possibilities--not only can you re-use the stamps and inks on other projects, there is almost always a nice pile of "leftovers" to use, too!

They are great to take on vacation or give to someone who has very little room or time to create.

Here is the preview of July's kit!

Happy thoughts for the June Paper Pumpkin

I liked the June Paper Pumpkin kit "Happy Thoughts" so much, I bought a refill! That's really unusual for me. If you're a subscriber, you can buy past kits and refills on any order. Look in the Paper Pumpkin section of my online store.

Here, I used a die cut flower from the kit and covered the back of it with Venetian Crochet Trim. More crochet trim along the side and White Perfect Accents (colored with my Sharpies) made it all come together. The green DSP is from the kit--the envelope liners are large enough to cut off a cardfront-sized piece and still have the liner function as planned.

Have you tried Paper Pumpkin yet?? Every month is a great new self-contained craft kit! All you *need* is scissors, but you can use the materials on so many more projects.

Bermuda Banners

This is really kind of a "bits and pieces" card. This embossed background and card base have been sitting on my stamp table for months. They were originally supposed to be part of a card for a Stamp Club night, but it didn't work out. We broke up.

I had plans for a Watercolor Wings butterfly that I thought would go with this card base, but it wasn't meant to be! That butterfly had to find a different home. The banners just stole the show. I punched them all with my fancy new Banner Triple Punch. No uneven banners--yay!
