Blackberry Spattered Butterflies

I posted this card on my Facebook page already but wanted to share it here, too. It's one of my favorites I've made with the Butterflies Thinlits!

Use an Aquapainter and ink to make these spatters the old-fashioned way. The main butterfly is cut from cardstock vellum, with the smaller layered butterfly cut from Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The gold filament is from Gold Baker's Twine--just unravel what you need! The card needed one other gold accent, so I used the "torn washi tape" thinlit from the Mini Treat Bag set to make a gold foil background for the sentiment. Isn't that a cool shape? I'll be using it more in the future!

Butterfly Notecard

Like so many of you, I love working with the Butterflies Thinlits! I don't see how you could make a "bad" card with them. This card didn't turn out the way I originally envisioned it, but I like it anyway!

I used Painted Petals to stamp the floral images in the right corner and the rows of dots (love that stamp!).  The spatters and the stripes are from Gorgeous Grunge. The butterfly is cut from the Stacked with Love DSP stack--it's not just for Valentines Day!

Blooming with Kindness--retiring!

This is a set that will stay in my stamp library for a looong time! Make sure it's in yours before Blooming with Kindness is retired!

The backgrounds are re-inkers and water on a clear stamp block. Easy and dramatic!

Blue Blooms Butterfly

The Butterflies Thinlits are so easy to use! It takes very little else to make a lovely card. This card will likely end up in the "Mother's Day Collection" for my mom. Shhhh! Don't tell!

A bit of the beautiful Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP) behind the cutout draws your eye to the details of the butterfly. I used glue dots to adhere the butterfly body to the DSP.

Pistachio Berry Basket

This basket was inspired by one in Stampin Success, the magazine Stampin Up sends out to demonstrators. I really like the stamping on the basket. It gives it some depth while still allowing the stronger cardstock to create a sturdier basket.

From the Herd

I loved this stamp when I first saw it, and I finally started making cards with it this month! With 7 children, we often feel quite like a "herd," so this is a perfect greeting from our family. I stamped the image on watercolor paper in Staz On Black, then colored with inks and the Aquapainter. To use your inks this way, smoosh (that's the technical term) the lid while the case is closed. When you open it, there's a little puddle/smear of ink for you to dip your Aquapainter in!

There are clouds and sky at the top of the image, but they're hard to see in the photo. The other thing that's hard to see is how I accented the eyes of all the animals:

I used Crystal Effects on all the eyes to bring a little freaky shine to them. {smile}

There are some great sentiments in this set, and I'll be sharing more samples of them soon! The set is available in photopolymer (my preference), clear mount, and wood mount.

Mini cards and a Berry Basket

More 3x3 cards from my Berry Basket mini cards project. Yes, they use the now-retired Best Year Ever DSP, but there are lots of beautiful papers still available!

My challenge to you today is to make some 3x3 cards--use what you already have and show me (here or on my Facebook page) what you made.

Lots of occasions coming up: weddings, birthdays, Mother's Day, Memorial Day--and we can always use a few love notes to drop in unexpected places or thank yous for someone who made a difference. Let's stamp!

I'm All Abloom with Thanks

The Hello You Thinlits are available again, and getting them with free shipping makes it that much better!

This simple card uses 2 different patterns from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper (DSP) stack. It's a great choice for spring, and the color combinations are fun! Inspired by the DSP, I combined Mossy Meadow (a 2014-16 In Color) with Pistachio Pudding (a 2013-2015 In Color).

NOW is the time to order any ink refills, cardstock, or accessories to go with your Pistachio Pudding (and Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Coastal Cabana!)
before they sell out! The retiring list will be out April 21,
and the 2013-15 In Colors will sell out within hours. Don't wait!

I decided to show you my first version of this card, which I made at the end of a long stamping session, when I was tired. {smile} It was super simple but fine for my purpose, which was to show the Hello You Thinlits. Unfortunately, when I was cleaning some extra glue from behind the "thanks," I smudged the "so much." Sigh. So I decided to use Strawberry Slush (picked up from the strip of All Abloom) to re-stamp the sentiment and add it over top. Here's the original:

I like the second version (at the top of this post) SO MUCH better! (See what I did there?) That little pop of color really brightened up the card and made it more fun.

Get your Hello You Thinlits and the coordinating set, Crazy About You, either separately or in a bundle at a 15% discount. It's available in Wood, Clear, and Photopolymer.

Strawberry Easter Basket--No Fooling!

This cute basket is made with the Stampin Up Berry Basket Die. It goes together VERY quickly--always a nice quality--and makes a great Easter basket, gift basket, or storage container.

At Stamp Club in March, we made cardstock strawberries to fill our baskets, because they're so cute! I looked on Pinterest for the strawberry template and used this one. I printed it on white cardstock, then traced it onto Real Red for the strawberries. It's a very simple shape to cut. Don't let it scare you off! Then emboss with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, score, and adhere together. The template provides a "leaf," but I cut them out with one of the Flower Fair Framelits instead. Thread Pistachio Pudding baker's twine through the top of the strawberry "petals," then through the "leaf," and pull tight. Tie in a bow. You could put something small inside the strawberry if you wanted to, but we didn't.

Here's another view of the basket:
I'll be featuring more Berry Baskets in the next several days so you can be as excited about this die as I am! Happy Spring!
