EPB--Do you have yours yet???

What's an EPB??? It's the Envelope Punch Board! The latest-greatest-most fun (English major--couldn't bring myself to type "funnest") tool to enter the Stampin Up scene. You can order yours in my online store.

We used it to make this fun gift card holder at October's Club meeting. Super easy--even though it was late and we were all a bit silly!

We used the smallest size envelope instructions on the board to make this tiny little envelope, then added it to a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 sheet of cardstock, scored and embossed. I love this one, because it would work for males or females.

Here's the outside view:
Stamps: Chalk Talk
Paper: tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Sweater Weather DSP
Ink:  Cajun Craze
Accessories:  envelope punch board, big shot, stylish stripes emb folder, Thankful Tablescape kit (paper ribbon)

Crayon rubbed embossing

I love autumn! Did I mention that before???

This is the technique card we did at club last week. I saw the technique on Pinterest, and now I can't find it again to give credit. Let me know if it's your idea!

Put one piece WW inside emb folder. Rub side of white crayon across pattern. Use sponge to add Crushed Curry.
Stamp Maple leaf in Tangerine Tango. Add spatters with Gorgeous Grunge in Early Espresso. Stamp sentiment in Espresso. Allow to dry 1-2 minutes, then rub off excess ink with paper towel.

Be sure to allow for the drying time, or you'll get a smudgy sentiment! This technique would work with any embossing folder.

Stamps: Another Thank You 133454, Magnificent Maple 131868, Gorgeous Grunge 130514
Paper: Early Espresso, Sweater Weather DSP, Whisper White
Ink: tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso
Accessories: Honeycomb emb folder, white crayons, Burlap ribbon (132140), Glimmer Brads basics

Birch paper with leaves

I admit it: I've been hoarding the Birch Paper that comes in the Thankful Tablescape kit (133463)! It's really the main reason I ordered the kit anyway, and I've been mulling over what to actually *do* with it for months. You get a roll with 3 one-yard pieces of the paper. It's about 5 inches wide and is similar to wallpaper without the heavy backing. And it has TEXTURE! I'm a touchy-feely crafter, and it's lovely to run my hands across this paper. I could pet it for hours.

We made this card at Club last week--it's pretty simple, as you can see. I wanted the texture of the paper to really be a focal point. The leaves are cut from Sweater Weather DSP and sponged with Chocolate Chip. The Gold is from the new Gold Foil sheets in the Holiday Catalog, and the brown stripe is cut from the "paper ribbon" that also comes in the Thankful Tablescape kit.

Paper: Island Indigo, Sweater Weather, Gold Foil
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Thankful Tablescape Kit, Autumn Accents Bigz die, Big Shot, Naturals buttons, Linen Thread

Multi-color Maples

I'm a sucker for a pretty leaf stamp! Magnificent Maple is a great single stamp available in the Holiday Catalog--it reminds me of the gorgous maple turning red in my front yard right now. We will be using the maple stamp tonight at our Club meeting (not to make this card--but another pretty maple card!). Fall colors are *my* colors, so these make me happy. I think the little bit of Soft Sky in there really highlights the gorgeous leaf tones.

This is a simple "one-sheet-wonder" technique--stamp a sheet of plain cardstock and use it as Designer Series Paper on your card. If you have a favorite stamp and a color combination you've been itching to try, this is the technique for you! I like to start with the lightest color first, but it doesn't matter. Just make sure you clean your stamp before changing inks!

Stamps: Magnificent Maple, Six-Sided Sampler
Paper: Early Espresso, Whisper White
Ink: Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso
Accessories: Hexagon Punch, Soft Sky Seam Binding, dimensionals

Modern Thanks

Simple card, made of "leftovers" on my craft table. Must have been made when my table was cleaner than it is now! I love the Modern Medley DSP--Black and Vanilla is a classic combination. The "Thank U" is from Pennant Parade, which fits perfectly in the center of a Label Love label.

Stamps: Pennant Parade, Label Love
Paper: Very Vanilla, Modern Medley DSP
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe
Accessories: Vanilla seam binding, Artisan Label punch, 7/8" scallop circle punch

Flippin' over Venetian Romance

I really love this card! The colors, the burlap, the candy dots . . . they all make me happy. This is an extended version of the Thinlit Flip card--you just put the "extra" cardstock (5.5 x 8.5) on top of the die before you cut it. You get a nicely scored line that folds inside your card.

Here's the inside:
Stamps: Chalk Talk, Express Yourself (hostess)
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Venetian Romance DSP
Ink: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Thinlit Flip Card, Burlap Ribbon, Brights Candy Dots, Chevron Embossing Folder, Chalk Talk framelits

Chalk Talk Label

I love the set Chalk Talk, with its matching framelits! The whole set is great anytime you want to make a tag! This card went together really quickly. The sentiment is embossed in pewter on black cardstock, then punched out with the large oval punch. The background is created with Gorgeous Grunge, a wonderful set that adds just the right amount of detail to any layout. Of course, the chevron ribbon is some of my favorite ribbon ever! The width makes it feel so solid, and makes it a design element instead of an accent.

Stamps: Chalk Talk, Gorgeous Grunge
Paper: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Versamark, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate
Accessories: Pewter embossing powder, Chalk Talk framelits, Large oval punch, Black Chevron ribbon

Watercolor Wednesday Again

I love the colors on this one, but not the layout so much. I do love that little "reflection" stamp, though! I used a little more of the reinkers on this background, and I quite like the way it turned out. (See the instructions here.)

Several people have emailed me that they are afraid to try this technique, but it really is easy! While I don't love every one of the backgrounds, after they dry I usually find that I like them!

Stamps: Wetlands
Paper: Naturals White, Basic Black, Soft Sky
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Sky (all reinkers) and Black
Accessories: Aquapainter and clear block, Baker's Twine
