Brown Sugar Tags
Need last minute tags??? You probably have everything you need already out in your crafting area! Tags are great ways to use up the scraps and shiny bits left over from other projects, or small pieces of those special papers you're hoarding. (You know what I'm talking about, right?)
We made these tags at December's Club Appreciation Night. The base is Baked Brown Sugar for both tags, but the tags have very different styles.
We made these tags at December's Club Appreciation Night. The base is Baked Brown Sugar for both tags, but the tags have very different styles.
For this tag, we used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch--I love that it punches the hole, too. A little texture with the Decorative Dots embossing folder, a few scraps of sparkle and the banner punch from my desk, and all we needed was a little stamping. The "sparkle" (love it!) comes from the set And Many More.
This elegant tag was super fast to make. We die cut the cardstock and the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum with the Pennant Framelits. The gold stripes make it easy to hide adhesive on the back. We made a little hole reinforcer with a hole punch and the 3/4" circle punch with Gold Foil. I love the Lucky Stars embossing folder from the Holiday catalog, and the Gold 1/8" ribbon and Gold Baker's Twine finish off the glitzy effect.

Snowflakes from My Paper Pumpkin
Paper Pumpkin has become one of my favorite things! We made this card at December's Club Appreciation night (love my Club ladies!), because when I saw the December Paper Pumpkin projects, I knew they were perfect! This is the outside of the finished card--love those snowflake laser-cut cards!
Here is the inside:
And here is the adorable matching tag!
So much goodness in one kit! Everything we used came straight from the kit--nothing extra needed!
Remember to get your subscription in--or buy one as a gift--by going to My Paper Pumpkin or ordering a pre-paid subscription in my store. I predict January's kit will be something for Valentine's Day--you don't want to miss out!
A subscription is $19.95 per month, including shipping! Still need a few gifts??? Paper Pumpkins are wonderful and thoughtful gifts that take up little space. You know how therapeutic it is to create (and finish!) somethiing! Give that feeling today with My Paper Pumpkin.

Christmas Gift Box
I thought I had already shared this, but apparently not! I made this box with the Gift Box Punch Board. We have used so many of these little boxes this Christmas gift season! This size will hold a gift card, but what I mainly use them for is giving jewelry!
If it looks confusing, don't worry. It's easy! There is a video to watch if written instructions aren't your thing.
The board has the instructions right on it, along with measurements for many sizes of boxes. After I cut my cardstock to 8 x 8, I used the Stripes Mask and Real Red ink to sponge on the pattern. I think it makes the box extra cute! The Punch Board is made with a great little "clasp" punch built right in, to make your flaps all secure.
The tag (you know I love tags!) is made with a piece of Trim the Tree DSP Stack paper, the stamp set Merry Everything, and the new Note Tag Punch. Baked Brown Sugar Thick Twine adds a nice little accent.

Snowflake Joy
Good old gate-fold card. Sometimes I forget the old favorites, and then when I re-discover them, it makes me so happy! Endless Wishes and Seasonally Scattered went together perfectly on this snowflake card.
Cut the card base at 4 1/4 by 11, score at 5 1/2. Then trim 2 3/4 off the front flap. The other piece that layers on the right is cut at 3 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. Here's a picture of the card opened:

Merry Everything Tags
One of the trends this year is the "double tag." At least, that's what I'm calling it. You have a decorative tag in front, and then add a more utilitarian tag behind it, for the pesky (and not beautiful) details. :-) We made this tag last week at my Club Appreciation Night. Super easy, and with just a bit of bling to make it special. The stamps are both from Merry Everything, and they match the new Note Tag punch. I used the Confetti Stars Punch (which I LOVE) on some scraps of Silver Glimmer Paper to add a little Christmas sparkle. Tied up with Silver 1/8" ribbon, this tag is ready to go!

Merry & Bright Christmas
We made this card last month at Stamp Club, and I really like it! It's simple and homey, and that's how I like my Christmas. The technique is "inlaid punches," which simply means that you punch a shape in your layer, and then punch again from another pattern, which you lay inside the hole you left. We added a little shine with the Confetti Stars punch and some Gold Foil. The sentiment is from the host set Good Greetings.

Snow, snow, snow
So we got a little snow. 8 inches in about 36 hours, actually. This is pretty early in the high desert for this much snow. My gardens were not ready. Neither was I.
So what could be better than stamping in the icy cold weather that followed???
These tags are stamped with that oldie-but-goody set: Lovely As a Tree! It's been around almost as long as Stampin' Up has, I think! If by some chance you don't own it, you really should! This lovely tree line was stamped in Versamark ink and then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. The die cut shape is from the Deco Labels Framelits collection. Tied with Silver 1/8" Ribbon, these pretty tags were a snap to make.

Simply Merry
I've been in a single-layer card mode for awhile now. Not sure if that's a function of my busy-ness or an artistic shift, but I find "clean and simple" creations more restful and more satisfying. A case in point--this card was the end result of about 4 hours of creative chaos in my craft room. I dragged out every supply and every sketch, and I still couldn't make anything I liked. Till this card.
Very few supplies were required (not the disaster you would have found on my work table): just Smoky Slate ink and cardstock, the well-loved Seasonally Scattered stamp set, some rhinestones, and the Filigree Frame embossing folder.
Simple. It makes me happy.

Gift boxes have never been so easy!
I like to call this my Bronco Box, in honor of our hometown team, the Boise State Broncos!
This box--and many more sizes--is easy to make with the Gift Box Punch Board.
With 4 daughters (not to mention my mom, sisters, and friends!), I find myself often giving gifts of small jewelry. These boxes are perfect! Check out this video from Stampin' Up! that shows how easy it is to use.

Happy Halloween!
I'm not a big Halloween person. I think I used to be, but now I'm old and grouchy.Or possibly just tired from having a 2-year-old at my advanced age.
This project, from the September Paper Pumpkin kit was really fun to make, though! Maybe I'll have to change my mind (again!). All the pieces came in the kit, and really, if you use one of the other stamps ("eat something sweet," for example), the treat could be for any occasion. Might want to leave off the raven, though. :-)
Did you know that if you're a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you can order select past kits and refills??? Great bonus! If you're not a subscriber, you can become one by clicking here and joining!

Bits & pieces--acetate butterfly tag gets a new life
My desk is getting awfully cluttered up, so it must be time for a few Bits & Pieces projects! Bits & Pieces projects are created from the little extras that I can't bear to throw away, but I don't really have a specific idea in mind.
Remember the acetate tag from my Blendabilities Club meeting in August? Well, I decided to turn it into a card! I cut a piece of Whisper White to 5 1/4 x 4 and stamped the Hardwood background in Wisteria Wonder, to match the butterflies. After mounting that layer to a white card base, I used a few dimensionals to add the tag, as well as a couple tiny glue dots to manage the baker's twine.
What have you got on your creating table that needs a new life? Link up your Bits & Pieces projects here--I'd love to visit your blog or gallery to see them!
