Wildflower Fields and Birthdays

Sometimes within one set of Designer Series Paper, you can find very different styles! These two cards are made with the same sketch, the same greeting, and the same Wildflower Fields DSP pack!

One is great for masculine birthdays--and don't we sometimes struggle to make those! The other is great for feminine birthdays.

Next time you're trying to make a card for one of the men in your life, consider just changing the paper from something you already like!

February Paper Pumpkin and Rose Garden Thinlits

I wanted to use those gorgeous "leftover" bits of flower from the February Paper Pumpkin Kit "Hello, Sunshine." First I cut out around the image, then I decided to use my Frog Tape for Delicate Surfaces to lift the flower pieces. They came up perfectly! Then I just applied them like I would a rub-on to my watercolored paper. The floral cut-outs are from the Rose Garden Thinlits set--I need to use this more right away! The Glitter Tape adds a bit of shine, but I can't decide if I love it on this card or not. What do you think??

Glitter Tape and Flowering Fields DSP

Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP) is one of my all-time favorite papers! It will be going away the end of March, so make sure you get your pack before the end of Sale-a-bration!

There are a few other Sale-a-bration products on this card, as well: Glitter Tape, Botanicals Vellum, and the happy birthday stamp from Sky Is the Limit.

The Glitter Tape comes in a pack of 3: Gold, Silver, and White. For this card, I used a Sponge Dauber to add Lost Lagoon ink to the White Glitter Tape. I love that you can see through it to the DSP behind.

What has been your favorite Sale-a-bration item for 2016?

February Paper Pumpkin birthday card

You already know I love Paper Pumpkin! Iin addition to all the marvelous goodies in the boxes, there is always a photopolymer stamp set. Today I'm featuring this card both on my blog and on my Card Buffet Facebook page to show you another way to use the stamps in February's Hello Sunshine kit.

First I did a wash of Pool Party ink on watercolor paper and let it dry. Next I used my MISTI stamp positioner to stamp the "happy birthday" till it was even. If you've ever tried to stamp on watercolor paper, you know it can be bumpy and spotty. With the MISTI, I can keep stamping in precisely the same place until the words are legible! MISTI saves the day (again)!

Then I added the floral images to the whole card with Calypso Coral, Basic Gray, and Pool Party inks. I used a sequin from the February Paper Pumpkin kit and some tiny rhinestones to add a little bling.

There are still refills for this kit available, and it's a fabulous one! Make sure you sign up for Paper Pumpkin by March 10 to get the next kit delivered right to your door! Only $19.95 plus tax (shipping is included).

Sky Is the Limit Spinner

This set is still available (for now) as a FREE Sale-a-bration item! It makes such great masculine cards and would be amazing with anything vintage.

Spinner cards are an old favorite! Just look on youtube for about a thousand videos on how to do it. We used the Word Window Punch to make the track for the biplane to spin. You'll need dimensionals and 2 pennies to make it work. Doesn't that sound mysterious???

I like to pop up my layer on a double stack of dimensionals to really give the spinner room to do its thing. Hope you enjoy  making this fun card that moves!
