More swaps/gifts for Convention. These were fun to make and they are super fun to use! Instructions are at Skip to my Lou. I found that I just needed a very lightweight interfacing, but you may want something different!

Watermelon!

 

This is my beautiful Emily, modeling a scarf I made as a Convention gift! Tonite (Wednesday) we are attending the Stampin' Up! Convention Kickoff, and the theme is a garden party! So I made watermelon scarves. Actually, it's purely a coincidence, but I fell in love with the material (seersucker), and it's great that it worked out for the theme! I made the scarves from instructions at MADE.

All these precious little owls somehow made it into my luggage! They will be gifts and swaps for my stampin friends. I made them using Stampin' Up's Designer Fabrics, available in so many pretty new patterns and colors. I found a pattern somewhere on the internet, which I unfortunately can't find again! Then I altered the size and shape a bit. If you know where the pattern is, please let me know! I'd love to give credit.

I hand-stitched all the features on (tummy, wings, eyes, nose), then machine stitched the front and back together. Here is a close up of the owls:

Convention gift bag

This is the bag I decorated for my Convention gifts--I'll be showing you what's inside in the next few days! The bag features the Hello, Doily stamp {l-o-v-e} and the Beau Chateau DSP. Aren't they yummy???? Had to use the pattern with the chicken, naturally.

I've been a terrible blogger lately, but it's not that I haven't been stamping. It's just all for Stampin' Up!'s Convention next week in Salt Lake City! I'm going with my bestest stamping friends, and I can't wait to show you all the cool stuff I learn!

Meanwhile, you should know that hostess benefits have changed *for the better*! (hmmm, I feel a Wicked song coming on . . . )Instead of being limited to certain sets for each level, hostesses will now receive a flat amount of hostess "credit." Remember . . .

This was my swap for our June club meeting. The theme was "patriotic." I used a lot of retiring/retired stuff! I used  the ink pad edge and swiped it on the paper to create the idea of flag stripes. Then I stamped the "remember" definition from Define Your Life (retired). I used the Stars Jumbo Wheel (retired) in Night of Navy ink at the top, and then added some Crumb Cake stars from the Small star punch (retired).

This weekend is a great time to remember all those who have sacrificed to preserve our freedoms! 

June, where have you gone???

I've been a very bad blogger this month! Not sure where the time has gone, except maybe to the gardens, the kids, the house, the grocery shopping--you know how that is!

I have been working in my stamp room! We had a catalog retirement party this week, and made this Father's Day card:

It's based on a card in the Stampin Success magazine for demonstrators, but (of course) I put my own spin on it! It uses the set The Open Sea from the Summer Mini, along with the coordinating Nautical Expedition DSP. I used the retiring Build-a-Brad with a punched wheel from the DSP.
