A little bit of Christmas!

Tuesday night, October 13, is the deadline to register for my Christmas Jingle Card Class! Be sure to have your payment in by that day so I can order your supplies! If you'd like to see the details of the class, visit this post. The fee is $35, and includes your own Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin Kit, 30 Very Vanilla card bases, and an embellishment packet. You'll have plenty of leftover supplies to make more cards, tags or scrapbook pages! You can drop off a check or cash, or send me the fee through Paypal to cardbuffet at gmail dot com.

We won't be making this card at the class, but I do like it! I made it for a swap in September.

Lost in space . . .

I've been a little lost in space myself lately. Sorry about the spotty posts. Things are crazy, as they always are when you have 6 children. LOL And in the switch to a new computer, I'm having a bit of a problem transferring pics from my old hard drive!

This is my favorite swap card from Convention. It was something I had created in my head the moment I saw the set in the catalog, but I kept running out of time to actually make it! So the night before Convention, I sat down and made 10!

I used the Polished Stone technique on Glossy White cardstock to make the background. I used Night of Navy, Ballet Blue, Taken with Teal, and Bashful Blue. Then I stamped the aliens in Black Craft Ink and embossed them with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

The sentiment is stamped in White Craft and embossed with II, so it will show up better on the black cardstock.

Sunny sunflowers

My internet connection has been sporadic at best the last few weeks. That should hopefully be fixed late tomorrow (new ISP)! 

And to my friends keeping Yom Kippur, may you have an easy fast. 

This is a half-pint jar decorated with Daisy die cuts and a large chocolate brad. I finished it off with a bow of 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain.

Simple Lattice

This card is a simplified version of this one I showed you during Convention. I swapped some of these as general swaps, and we also made it at Card Buffet! I stamped the image from Pendant Park in Whisper White Craft and embossed with White embossing powder. It gives a really bright, white image that way! I pierced the center of the lattice and added a brad, then cut bits of dimensionals to hide on the back of the lattice. It's popped up, giving a really great depth to the "window" feel I was going for.

More Medallion

You've seen them *everywhere*, I know! Medallion cards, that is. It's because you really cannot make a bad card with this stamp! How is that for an iron-clad guarantee??? I do think you get the best ink coverage by using a brayer to apply the ink to this stamp. It works for simple (like this one) or extravagant cards. You can punch out parts of it, pierce the whole thing, do techniques--the possibilities are endless!
