Etch-a-Sketch From the Herd

Etch-a-sketch technique from April's Stamp Club Meeting.

I have somewhat painful memories of the Etch-a-sketch. I was never patient enough to do anything with it but geometric wanderings. But stamping made it all possible here!

We stamped on Vellum Cardstock, then layered it over Smoky Slate Cardstock. To make the "frame," we used a square framelit and cut twice--just slide it over, keeping the borders the same. Then round the corners and attach to the image with dimensionals.

Pistachio Butterfly

The Pistachio Pudding color and all the accessories is retiring the first of June! I wanted to get this picture blogged before it was out of date. {smile} I love the DSP pattern you see behind the butterfly cutout. It's from the All Abloom DSP stack--it's still available, along with the Painted Petals stamp set, which contains the sentiment on this card.

Make-Your-Own Butterfly Stamps

Aren't these butterfly stamps great? They perfectly match the Butterflies Thinlits dies BECAUSE--
I made them from the dies. {smile}

Using your  Butterflies Thinlits, cut 2 butterfly images (one at a time) from fun foam. You may need to run them through 3-4 times to make sure they cut completely. Then carefully glue the two diecuts together and let dry. Rub some Tombo Multi glue onto the back of the fun foam and allow to dry overnight. Ta da! You have new stamps!

Use them as you would any photopolymer or clearmount stamps--just stick them on a block and stamp! Of course, you can do this with any die cuts you can make. What other dies do you think would work well?

Happy Mother's Day

We made this card at April's Stamp Club meeting. Not everyone needs a Mother's Day card, so some used birthday greetings or other sentiments. However you do it, Painted Petals is a wonderful stamp set for making watercolor-style floral cards. The coordinating Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper is gorgeous--every page a work of art!

In this photo, it's hard to see the tiny pearls at the center of the stamped flowers, but they add a nice bit texture. We inked up the flowers in Blackberry Bliss, then "pounced" Rose Red marker on them to give a little color variation.

Painted Blooms and Painted Petals will be gone after June 2, so get yours ordered now!

Coastal Cabana Butterflies

As with so many cards lately, this was not what I set out to make. But I still like it! I used 3 layers of butterfly cutouts--one from Basic Black, one from Coastal Cabana cardstock, and one from the Coastal Cabana polka dot print in the 2013-15 In Color DSP Stack.

The sentiment is cut with one of my favorite dies--the banner from the Gift Card Envelope Thinlit set. It fits so many sayings just perfectly! The background layer is from the Stacked with Love DSP stack, and I put a layer of Basic Black behind it to give it a frame against the white base.

Notice the black pearls? I colored them with a Sharpie! I felt like that little bit of black pulled the whole card together.
