Sweetheart Valentine Class!

Need ideas for co-workers, friends, and sweethearts this Valentine's Day? This Sweetheart Valentine class is for you!  

Only $10. You'll make everything shown here: 5 decorated treat boxes, 1 sweet card, and 1 treat bag. (Treats not included.)

Class will be held Tuesday, January 27, at 7 pm. Please reserve your spot by sending your $10 by noon on Wednesday, January 21. Just send me an email {cardbuffet@gmail.com} or text and I will send you a Paypal invoice*. Late registrations will cost $15 and are available only if I have enough supplies. Hope to see you there!

Want to do the class by mail? I can send you all the supplies, including the "bits and pieces," and you can use your own Valentine stamps or order the You Plus Me set to complete the projects. The class by mail is $12 (including postage).

*You don't need a Paypal account to pay, but Paypal allows me to accept debit and credit cards. Or you can drop off a check or cash.

Shake it up for Valentine's Day!

I love cards that have movement! Shaker cards are so easy with Washi tape, and this card from January's Stamp Club makes a great Valentine!

We used a sheet of printed paper from the Stacked with Love DSP stack, then punched a lovely bunch of confetti using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch. Push your confetti into a little pile to make it easier to contain it while you apply the Window Sheet. We live in the high desert, so it's really important here to use the Embossing Buddy on the Window Sheet, before applying it to the card. Really, really important. Because static is the enemy of a good shaker card, my friend!

Attach the Window Sheet to the card with super cute Washi Tape (Stacked with Love here), making sure to burnish it really well. My clubbers, dear friends that they are, all said, "Why can't you just say 'rub it really hard?' "  Because I needed the instructions to fit on one page, that's why!

After the Window Sheet is secure (burnish it one more time, just to make me feel better, mkay?), add your finishing touches. I love the new set You Plus Me--so many great ways to show affection, and not just for Valentine's Day! We stamped the medallion image in Calypso Coral and die cut it with a Starburst framelit. Love the white border!

So drag out your Washi tape and make a fun shaker card this week!

The Paper Pumpkin kits just keep blowing me away! This is one of three different shaker cards that came in the December kit (a total of 9 cards and envelopes). The stamp set is *wonderful*, and I'm excited to keep using it!

Roses are red . . .

I confess it has been a looooong time since I last used Rose Red cardstock and ink! It seemed like a nice bold way to match up with this strip of designer series paper (DSP) from the All Abloom stack in the main catalog. I love the way the new Happy Hearts folder looks on the Rose Red cardstock. I lightly brushed my ink pad over the paper until I got the definition I wanted on the embossed hearts. The Mossy Meadow ribbon picks up color from the DSP and makes a nice balance with the "you + me" medallion.

You know it's true, when I say, "I love you"

I wanted to use this little "I {heart} you" banner on the tag outline that comes in the set One Tag Fits All. It didn't quite reach across, but I used the Basic Black marker to extend one side, and I don't think it's too noticeable. There is a punch to match the tag shape, but it cuts off a bit of the decorative edge, so I hand cut it.  This card will go in the stack to give my honey during February. He's much more of a romantic than I am, and I try to make him feel special at Valentines Day.
