Vintage birthday
I think my birthdays have possibly crossed over into "vintage" territory . . . and I'd love to get this card! We made it at Club on Tuesday, and it uses some of my very favorite things from the new Stampin Up catalog.
The stamp is Elizabeth--one of the single woodmount stamps (page 18, 117120). If I remember (see? I told you I was vintage), I'll show you how I've been using them unmounted--with the stickers! Anyway, I loved this stamp as soon as I saw it. All the sentiments from Teeny Tiny Wishes fit in there!
Then we used the color spritzer to add some Rich Razzleberry smudges to it, along with some sponging. The Pinking Hearts Border Punch is so great for delicate accents. I think it adds a great detail to the top element! Then on to the Vintage Brads! Mmmmmm, yummy! Go on, order two of them. Otherwise you'll hoard them! I know because, well, . . . .anyway, just order two! Add a little bit of Victoria Crochet Trim and Love Letter DSP, and off you go!

Whooo loves to read?
I'm a compulsive reader. In a houseful of compulsive readers. Some of our worst arguments come over whose turn it is with a book. lol
Remember the bookmarks from my Aloha Catalog party in June??? Well, I had cut a few extras. More than a few, actually. :-) I love to have a few small gifties on hand, so I got busy making up all those extra bookmarks! But I have a short attention span. I wanted something NEW on those babies! So I talked my daughter into making up a few of my favorite owls! Aren't they just the cutest things???
I'm really struggling to leave them in the gift box. A few may sneak their way into my reading pile.

Purple Purse for Janice
My friend Janice was my Convention buddy--which means she swapped for me, bought for me, shipped to me, and kept me updated with pics and texts and phone calls! She was wonderful!
When I mailed my swaps to her, I included this purple swap bag--purple is Janice's favorite color. {smile}
A close-up of the melty-pin I made to match it! This was my first try at these. The others I've made have been quilted or stitched or felt. I really love that I can add so much texture with this style!
Thanks again, Janice!

Scalloped Marina Mini album
This is the last of the swaps I sent to Convention 2010. It was for a 3D swap, and I chose a mini album--which is what I usually choose! lol
I hadn't seen anything exactly like this, so I was kinda pleased with myself! It's cut from the larger scallop circle on the Scallop Circle #2 die. I used the Friendly Words Wheel, which I had cut up a while ago. I like using the individual sentiments that way! If you'd like to see the rest of the pages, click on the pics below. Thanks!

Everything's coming up Daffodil!
I love yellow. It's my favorite color! So when there was a New Color Swap, it was easy for me to pick--Daffodil Delight!
I used the brand new Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder on Vellum cardstock. Didn't it turn out to be beautiful??? I used markers to color the flower stamp from Friends Never Fade. That made it easy to do a few highlights on the main blossom!

Kimono Kids--Convention 2010
I didn't make it to the Stampin Up Convention this year, but my swap sister Janice agreed to swap for me! The next few posts will be the swaps I sent to her.
This was my general swap for the Stampin Addicts Meet & Greet! I fell in love with this set--Kimono Kids--at first glance, and it's become more and more a favorite! To me, red, black and gold is the go-to Asian color scheme. So I went to it!
I stamped the little girl with Black Craft ink on watercolor paper and then embossed. Riding Hood Red Classic ink to watercolor her dress, shoes, and hair ornament. I picked up Blush Blossom marker with my Aquapainter to do the feet, hands, and face. After it dried, I used a sponge dauber and Gold Shimmer Paint to highlight the flowers and her hair ornament.
Thanks, Janice, for swapping for me!
