Big Shot Felt Pretties

Have you noticed how everyone is using the Big Shot with fabrics lately??? I've fallen in love with textile die cutting! I joined a swap on Stampin Addicts and soon I'll be able to show you what I made!

Meanwhile, here is a sampling. The basket is cut from felt with the Baskets and Blooms die, and then stitched together. It's decorated with stitched felt from the Sweet Pea collection (117266, Occasions Mini p 32). They are really fun, and brighten up any project! The wide hair clip is made with small felt flowers die cut from the Baskets and Blooms die, and the centers are from the Sweet Pea felt again. The two front clips are also from the Sweet Pea felt.

What have you made with fabric and the Big Shot???

A Kind Word on an Easel!

Anybody else in the mood for spring??? We have had pretty warm weather here for February, and my daffodils and crocus are peeking up, but I'd love to see the sun instead of clouds!

This is the easel card we made for club last week. Easel cards are "hot" these days, and they are SUPER easy! This is a square card, cut at 8 x 4, then scored at 4 and 2. Attach your front panel to ONLY the bottom of the card front. Then create an inside decoration that will help prop up the front. Easy!

I love this set--A Kind Word. I was a Holly Hobbie fan as a little girl, and this set reminds me of her!

Vintage Friends

We made this card at Club last night! Don't you wish you'd been there??? {smile}

We made Faux Lace using the Pinking Hearts border punch and the crimper, then we sponged lots of ink on it to make it look, well, *vintage*! The shimmery white layer was stamped and sponged till it looked like DSP--my daughter even asked which paper it was! LOL

LOTS of sponging on this card! Go ahead and try one!

More Mini Milk Cartons

I made a bunch of these to mail to Susie, so she'd have some valentines to give out! They really do go together quickly, and I think I filled 4 or 5 from a regular size bag of Valentine M&Ms. I need to make a couple more before Valentines Day sneaks up on me! Are you ready?

The houses in your neighborhood, in your neighborhood, in your neigh-bor-hood!

Another card made just with the Welcome Neighbor DSP pack, available only for FREE as a Sale-a-bration reward!  There are several color schemes of this print in the pack, and they make a wonderful card, don't you think?

I sponged Old Olive ink around the edges, then layered onto Pumpkin Pie and then the Old Olive card base. There is room at the top to stamp a greeting, if I want to later.

Butterflies in the neighborhood

It's a little early for butterflies to be in my actual neighborhood. It snowed today. {sigh} But these little beauties will brighten up the day! This is another card from the set I made for Susie. Very simple again, but I think it's a fun card!

Aren't those butterflies yummy? Super easy with the new Beautiful Wings embosslit! I love those little babies--so easy to use, and you get embossing and punching all in one Big Shot pass!

Happy Birthday, Susie!

Today is my daughter Susie's birthday! She is 19. It's hard to believe I--I mean SHE is that old! LOL She was the teeniest little thing when she was born--only 6 pounds even. Now she's my grown up college daughter!

We pre-celebrated her birthday in December, while she was still home, but of course we still sent a package for her actual birthday! How did I send her off to college without a few blank greeting cards, you may ask? Well, I have Swiss cheese for brains apparently. So I sat down in my craft room last week to come up with a few that might suit her.

First, you should know that my mojo has been seriously missing for a couple months. Ok, maybe more than that. LOL It feels like there has been so much going on, I haven't just sat down and crafted for my own enjoyment. First I shoved everything to the side cleared off my table, and then I started looking through all my pretty new things from the Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration brochure!

The Welcome Neighbor DSP pad (a FREE Sale-a-bration reward!) caught my eye. My hoarding gene immediately raised its head--"What if you need that paper for a more important project later?" But it's for *Susie*, so I knew I could do it! Once I got started, the ideas came easily! This paper is really easy to use!

I didn't even stamp on this one! {gasp} It seemed just right the way it was, and now Susie can use it for any occasion that comes up! I'll have a few more to share over the next few blog posts. Open up that paper and USE it!

Happy birthday, Susie!

Mini Milk (Chocolate) Carton

This is the third project we made at January's club meeting. You *know* how I am about the Big Shot! And this new Mini Milk Carton Die was a MUST HAVE! It's teeny, which makes it all the easier to fill with candy! LOL

My club members had two options for decorating it--one with the new Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel and one with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and the Sending Love Specialty DSP. The only trick to this die cut is that you need to be sure to use a bone folder to make hard creases and don't miss any of the fold lines! (I did several times in the attempt to make a sample, but I just did it to make everyone feel better. Really.) We used Teeny Tiny Wishes with the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch! I love that set! Every time I need a greeting, it's in the Teeny Tiny Wishes box!

And how 'bout those cutie pie epoxy brads??? Ya gotta have 'em and you know it!
