Fabulous Flower Folds

My September Club hostess requested that we use the Flower Folds die, and I was *happy* to oblige! I love this one! (Is there one I don't love??? Hmmm. Probably not.)

I picked up some tins at Convention and decided they'd be perfect for a Flower Folds project. First we cut the die from Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry cardstock. Then we spritzed them with water and ran them through the Texturz plates. Fold up the petals on the score lines before the paper dries, and this is what you get! Isn't it lovely??? The center of the big flower is punched from an embosslit.

We also made a cute little 3x3 card with the "leftover" petals. My best friend Brandi has convinced me that doodling is what *every* project needs, and so we added that!

Stamps: Razzle Dazzle
Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Signo White Gel Pen, Basic Black Stampin Write Marker

Just Jacob

Today is my Jacob's 8th birthday!

After some initial reluctance to actually enter this world (he was born 2 weeks after his due date!), Jake finally appeared, weighing in at a paltry 9 pounds 8 ounces. Poor little thing! LOL

He has a gentle, sweet spirit and a gift for saying just the right thing to make his Mama happy. The girl who gets him will be one lucky woman! A boy with 4 older sisters definitely has an edge on how to "understand girls."

Jake got to pick out a new bike for his birthday--he likes it just a bit.He had outgrown his last one to the point of hitting his knees on the handlebars. {smile} He's really excited to start Cub Scouts and participate with all his friends. He loves basketball, Star Wars, and Transformers.

Happy Birthday, Jake!

Swish!

I participated in a "cards that move" swap at Convention, and decided to try a style I'd never done before! This is a suspension card--the basketball is suspended in the punched-out circle. It stressed me out LOL, but I loved how they ended up!

Here's a close-up of the window. I stamped the Hoop right behind the image, so it looks like the basketball is spinning inside!

Bandana Technique

Isn't this cute! I found the idea on several blogs--not sure who originated it. This was the technique for Card Buffet in August, and everyone seemed to enjoy it! It's a simple technique--you just start adding dots with your white gel pen! Give it a try! It's a great summer look!

Stamps: Always
Paper: Ballet Blue, Whisper White, Real Red
Ink: Ballet Blue
Accessories: White Gel Pen

Oh, and a note about the fabulous Big Shot Hero video:

I can take credit *only* for posting it. It's not my video, that's not my dh, and I had nothing to do with it whatsoever! I just shared it because I was so impressed. :-) Here's a link to Linda Heller's post about it. Glad you all enjoyed it as much as I did!

Big Shot Hero

Every year, Stampin' Up! holds a "commercial" contest among demonstrators. This was the winning entry this year, and one of my favorite Convention moments! Cheers to Linda Heller and her team for a great commercial!

It's all about the potatoes

If you have known me long, you know that I have a certain reluctance to be identified as a "potato" head Idahoan. I love where I live, and I guess if it being associated with potatoes keeps more people from moving here, all the better. Idaho and Idahoans have much more to offer than potatoes, is all I'm saying. LOL

Anyway, I thought it would be fun to make up these notebooks for some very close friends at Convention. This way, they can think of ME, their favorite "Idahoan", every time they use the notebooks!

Llorenzo is ready!

Llorenzo is on his way to Salt Lake City, full of dreams, loaded with swaps, and hopped up on dimensionals--I mean chocolate! If you'll be at Convention, come and find us!

Here is a tiny gift I made for my Swap Sisters! I'll be seeing many of them *tonite*! Can't wait!

What do you get . . .

. . .when you combine sleepless stampers, fabulous swaps, a bag of new stampin goodies, and friends who haven't seen each other in a year?????

STAMPIN UP CONVENTION BABEEE!!!

I've been getting ready for a month.

The swaps are done (unless I decide I need to make *just one more*).
The bags are nearly packed (good thing there are wheels on that luggage)!
The laundry is almost finished (well, except for the towels, and that pile over there, and . . oh well).
The llama is lloaded up!
The cell numbers are exchanged!
The children have been sufficiently bribed. (I hope!)

Who loves to stamp???? See ya in Salt Lake City!!!
