Ok, who remembers Marie Osmond singing *that* golden oldie???
This is the gorgeous Brayered Roses technique! You've probably seen it all over the internet already, and I'm always late to the show. Yellow roses are my favorite! My Grandpa grew roses, and I always associate rose bushes with him. He was a marvelous gardener. We'll be learning this technique next week at Card Buffet!

I bought this wheel when it first came out. And then I was afraid to use it! LOL I decided it was *time*! I ran it across my Chocolate Chip Craft ink pad and then onto Naturals White cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used my Watercolor Crayons (they make me feel like an artist, which I definitely am NOT) to color in! The embossing helped me stay "in the lines," which has been my coloring downfall for just about 40 years.
We'll be making this card in July for Card Buffet!
********************************* Stamps: Really Retro Paper: Naturals White, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Ruby Red Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft, Bashful Blue Classic, Not Quite Navy Classic Accessories: Neighborhood Wheel, Watercolor Wonder Crayons in Earth Elements and Neutrals, Aquapainter, White Gel Pen, Word Window Punch, Clear Embossing Powder, Stampin Sponge
Glitter Window. This technique is an oldie but a goody! Cut a window in your cardstock. Cover the back of it with clear packing tape. Apply Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Stamp your image to go behind it, and woohoo! Pretty card with sparkles!
After my card buffet last month, I still had leftover Die Cut Blooms! So I actually sat down and made a few cards. {gasp} I seem to run out of birthday cards faster than anything else, so that's what these ended up being! So easy!

We made this card at June's Card Buffet. It's the "full-sized" version of the 3x3 swap card I did here. I always need more wedding cards this time of year! This one is simple and elegant, and uses my favorite tools--punches! The sentiment is from Oval All, available now in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I stamped it in Basic Black Craft ink on Whisper White cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I punched it out using the Large Oval punch. It's layered on a Scalloped Oval punch (also in the Occasions Mini!).
The vellum layer was run through the Big Shot with the Texturz plates. I use one sheet of cardstock as a "shim," because the vellum is thinner than cardstock. That gives you a nice deep look to the embossing. It's difficult to use adhesive behind vellum, as you may have found out! So this is attached to a layer of Basic Black cardstock using only the 4 black brads. The sentiment is popped up with Dimensionals.
Have a great weekend!

Last night we had a Last Chance Party and made these two cards! The red card is from my Bon Voyage Blog Hop post, and the other uses Pretty Amazing. I think my stampers had a good time--everybody got a prize!

My two favorite features of A Little Birdie Told Me are how cute the images are when paper pieced and the wonderful assortment of greetings! So onward to the projects!
3x6 One of a Kind This card is a made from textured Baja Breeze cardstock. Sometimes that longer canvas is just perfect for a "one of a kind" layout! On the card, I stamped the larger birdie 3 times in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I stamped it again on Slumber Party Specialty Designer Series Paper and cut it out. It's adhered with dimensionals to give it a little extra pop!

Umbrella in the Window Paper piecing (again) highlights the umbrella stamp in this set! I used my Wide Oval Punch to make the "window" in the Sweet Bella Designer Series Paper.
The greeting "a little birdie told me" is actually a 3-line stamp, but I thought it would look better stretched out. I used my Chocolate Chip Stampin Write marker to color just the words I wanted, then used the Stampamajig to line them up! Use the Stampajig to make these sentiments fit *any* shape!
************************** Stamps: A Little Birdie Told Me Paper: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose Designer Series Paper Ink: Chocolate Chip Accessories: Wide Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Soft Subtles Brads, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, dimensionals
A Little Card Candy As I mentioned, one of my favorite things about A Little Birdie Told Me is *all* the wonderful sentiments! One for every occasion! And if you like greetings for inside your cards, this set is perfect!
I stamped every greeting (and a couple images!) from the set onto Riding Hood Red cardstock. For the Chocolate Chip layer, I used Chocolate Chip Craft ink to stamp the "thank you" from Oval All and embossed it. I think it gives the sentiments a perfect frame! I used dimensionals to mount the "candy" onto the sticker backing from a Stampin Up set. Now they're all ready to pop onto the pre-made cards anytime I need a card!
The card is a 4x4 square made of Riding Hood Red cardstock. I cut 2 1/2" circles out of watercolor paper and stamped the birdie on it. Using the Aquapainter and Riding Hood Red re-inker, I painted my birdies a cheery red! I layered them onto Baja Breeze cardstock die cut with the Scallop Circles #2 die and my Big Shot.
************************************** Stamps: A Little Birdie Told Me Paper: Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Watercolor Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft and Classic, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze Accessories: Circle Scissor Plus, Big Shot, Scallop Circle #2, Aquapainter, Clear Embossing Powder
If you've read my blog before, you may know that we raise chickens and ducks on our mini-farm. We just got a new batch of chicks, and my daughter thought her favorite chick needed to be immortalized! LOL The birdies seemed like the perfect stamps!
