Mint Macaron--not macaroon, macaron! (You can click the words to see the difference.)
It's a minty green--fresh and spring-like, also great as a neutral background! Those of you still missing Sage Shadow will be thrilled with the introduction of Mint Macaron. You must promise to pronounce it correctly, though. {wink}
I used my fallback, the beautiful Butterflies Thinlits, to make this delicate card. The sentiment is from one of my favorite sets in the catalog--Sprinkles of Life! It's the Ronald McDonald House set this year, so for every set I sell, Stampin Up will donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities! Win, win, non? (See how I stuck a little more French in there, so the macaron wouldn't feel lonely?) There is a coordinating punch, but we'll get to that later. Today we celebrate Mint Macaron!
The Designer Series Paper you see on the layered butterfly is from the new Envelope Paper: In Color 2015 set. It's a fun, thinner DSP that makes fabulous envelopes, as well as gorgeous butterflies.

Vellum butterfly and gold goodness
This was a Stamp Club card in April. We used an Aquapainter and Pacific Point ink to make spatters on the white layer, which was already embossed with the Spring Flowers embossing folder. That cute little gold shape behind the sentiment is from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits set. The gold thread under the butterfly is from the Gold Baker's Twine. And of course, butterflies from Vellum Cardstock and my all-time-favorite DSP, Painted Blooms!

Make-Your-Own Butterfly Stamps
Aren't these butterfly stamps great? They perfectly match the Butterflies Thinlits dies BECAUSE--
I made them from the dies. {smile}
Using your Butterflies Thinlits, cut 2 butterfly images (one at a time) from fun foam. You may need to run them through 3-4 times to make sure they cut completely. Then carefully glue the two diecuts together and let dry. Rub some Tombo Multi glue onto the back of the fun foam and allow to dry overnight. Ta da! You have new stamps!
Use them as you would any photopolymer or clearmount stamps--just stick them on a block and stamp! Of course, you can do this with any die cuts you can make. What other dies do you think would work well?

Stamps: homemade butterflies, Lovely Amazing You
Paper: Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White

Coastal Cabana Butterflies
As with so many cards lately, this was not what I set out to make. But I still like it! I used 3 layers of butterfly cutouts--one from Basic Black, one from Coastal Cabana cardstock, and one from the Coastal Cabana polka dot print in the 2013-15 In Color DSP Stack.
The sentiment is cut with one of my favorite dies--the banner from the Gift Card Envelope Thinlit set. It fits so many sayings just perfectly! The background layer is from the Stacked with Love DSP stack, and I put a layer of Basic Black behind it to give it a frame against the white base.
Notice the black pearls? I colored them with a Sharpie! I felt like that little bit of black pulled the whole card together.

Blackberry Spattered Butterflies
I posted this card on my Facebook page already but wanted to share it here, too. It's one of my favorites I've made with the Butterflies Thinlits!
Use an Aquapainter and ink to make these spatters the old-fashioned way. The main butterfly is cut from cardstock vellum, with the smaller layered butterfly cut from Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The gold filament is from Gold Baker's Twine--just unravel what you need! The card needed one other gold accent, so I used the "torn washi tape" thinlit from the Mini Treat Bag set to make a gold foil background for the sentiment. Isn't that a cool shape? I'll be using it more in the future!

Butterfly Notecard
Like so many of you, I love working with the Butterflies Thinlits! I don't see how you could make a "bad" card with them. This card didn't turn out the way I originally envisioned it, but I like it anyway!
I used Painted Petals to stamp the floral images in the right corner and the rows of dots (love that stamp!). The spatters and the stripes are from Gorgeous Grunge. The butterfly is cut from the Stacked with Love DSP stack--it's not just for Valentines Day!
