Embossing paste birthday tag

When I go on a watercoloring spree, I like to "clean up" the color with these pre-cut bookmarks. They are easy to grab, and then I'm not wasting any of the beautiful watercolor!

While I was in a copper mood, I grabbed my embossing paste, some Versamark, and Copper Emboss Powder. Using a (retired) mask, I added some dots of embossing paste along one edge. It doesn't need to be even or straight or anything like that. Just slap it on! When I had the amount I wanted, I removed the mask and added the Copper Emboss Powder. Then I quickly wiped the mask off with baby wipes. You don't want to let the embossing paste dry on your mask (or desk, or any other surface except your card!), or it becomes very difficult to remove.

I have seen suggestions to wait 15 minutes before heating the embossing powder on embossing paste, but I didn't. I just heated it from behind at first, then from the top as usual. Keep your heat tool at least 2-3 inches away from the paste so you don't scorch it.

I used Versamark ink to add the sentiment and the spatters of copper. Just wipe it along the edges or smear a little bit around. Add more copper embossing powder till you have the look you want.
