Watercolor Wedding

I used a watercolor panel that I've had hanging around my desk for quite awhile. It was an odd shape, but it worked perfectly in this layout! The Festive Embossing Folder gave me some texture on the background, and Copper Foil with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits did the rest of the work! I love that little butterfly, in particular, but this Thinlit set is one of my favorites.

Flirty Flamingo Birthday Banners

I am slowly working through all my fun new products! I love birthday themed stuff, so Birthday Banners (page 15 of the main catalog) was an easy choice for me. It's a photopolymer set (my favorite) that matches the Balloon Bouquet Punch (page 187) AND the new Bunch of Banners Framelits (page 193).

The Fancy Frost Specialty DSP is found on page 37 of the new Holiday Catalog. It's a set of dry embossed white papers that are an easy way to add instant texture. In this card, I sponged on some Flirty Flamingo ink to show off the pattern.

Post Number 1000: Wedding Flourishes with Copper Embossing

I can't believe it's true, but Google says it, so it must be! One thousand posts on this blog! Wow, that seems like a lot. I started this blog in 2008, after deciding to change my business from only Card Buffets to a more broad-based stamping and paper crafting approach.  I'd like to think my art has improved, but my style hasn't really changed. I'm still mostly a clean and simple stamper, with a few fun details.

It has been wedding season among our friends' children, so I needed to add a few to my stash. I used Mint Macaron (some straight, some stamped off once) and Bermuda Bay here, with a few Copper embossing details. I think the copper just adds a little formality and makes the card more interesting. It's hard to see in the photo, but the edges of the stamped panel are also embossed, to add a bit of structure.

Don't forget to use the Host Code N9VFGKK2 when placing your order this month! I'll send you my new Technique Sheet and a sample card for the Color Me Technique.

July Paper Pumpkin Favors

I can always use little favor boxes for treats to give away to friends!

These wonderful diamond-shaped copper favor boxes were part of the July Paper Pumpkin kit. I used part of the included tags to make these. The "you're a gem" stamp is from a previous kit last year. To make the little copper accents, I colored pearls with a Copper Sharpie marker. Now is a great time to pick up the 3-pack of Sharpies when you buy school supplies--gold, silver, and copper! I also used the copper marker to make a border around the tag.

The boxes are filled with individually-wrapped Lifesavers.
