Happy Birthday, Susie!

Today is my daughter Susie's birthday! She is 19. It's hard to believe I--I mean SHE is that old! LOL She was the teeniest little thing when she was born--only 6 pounds even. Now she's my grown up college daughter!

We pre-celebrated her birthday in December, while she was still home, but of course we still sent a package for her actual birthday! How did I send her off to college without a few blank greeting cards, you may ask? Well, I have Swiss cheese for brains apparently. So I sat down in my craft room last week to come up with a few that might suit her.

First, you should know that my mojo has been seriously missing for a couple months. Ok, maybe more than that. LOL It feels like there has been so much going on, I haven't just sat down and crafted for my own enjoyment. First I shoved everything to the side cleared off my table, and then I started looking through all my pretty new things from the Occasions Mini and Sale-a-bration brochure!

The Welcome Neighbor DSP pad (a FREE Sale-a-bration reward!) caught my eye. My hoarding gene immediately raised its head--"What if you need that paper for a more important project later?" But it's for *Susie*, so I knew I could do it! Once I got started, the ideas came easily! This paper is really easy to use!

I didn't even stamp on this one! {gasp} It seemed just right the way it was, and now Susie can use it for any occasion that comes up! I'll have a few more to share over the next few blog posts. Open up that paper and USE it!

Happy birthday, Susie!

Mini Milk (Chocolate) Carton

This is the third project we made at January's club meeting. You *know* how I am about the Big Shot! And this new Mini Milk Carton Die was a MUST HAVE! It's teeny, which makes it all the easier to fill with candy! LOL

My club members had two options for decorating it--one with the new Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel and one with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch and the Sending Love Specialty DSP. The only trick to this die cut is that you need to be sure to use a bone folder to make hard creases and don't miss any of the fold lines! (I did several times in the attempt to make a sample, but I just did it to make everyone feel better. Really.) We used Teeny Tiny Wishes with the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch! I love that set! Every time I need a greeting, it's in the Teeny Tiny Wishes box!

And how 'bout those cutie pie epoxy brads??? Ya gotta have 'em and you know it!

Happy birthday to me!

My birthday fairy sent me a wonderful gift today!

Meet Lloyd the Llama. Isn't he adorable??? Llamas are kind of my thing--which is a verrrrryyyyyy long story available on the Stampin Addicts site, if you care that much. LOL Suffice it to say that they have come to represent free spirits, happiness, and a positive attitude!

My birthday sent me other wonderful gifts, too, but I thought I should share Lloyd today! Have a great Friday for me!

Making a Difference

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set purchase will be donated to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relif and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

Product Name  Item #  Price
I {Heart} Hearts – clear-mount  (block D recommended)  118571  $18.95
I {Heart} Hearts – wood-mount  117010  $26.95

In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin′ Up! demonstrators have stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This time is no different.

With All My Heart

Oh, hey! It's Wednesday and I haven't blogged yet this week! Aack! LOL Sorry about that! I seem to be having a hard time getting back in the swing of things!

We made this card last week at our club meeting. Isn't it fun? And in light of all the New Year's resolutions going around, I thought we should fill it with something *other* than candy! {gasp} Of course, you *could* put candy in it if you wanted to! We used scraps of Designer Paper, Red Bead Duo (p 180) 110731 $9.95, and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (p 180) 102023 $4.50.

This card features a bunch of new products! First--how about that adorable border punch on the left side! You can get it for FREE by placing a $50 order during Sale-a-bration! The punch is called the Scallop Trim border punch (SAB p 9) 11840, and again--it's free!

And then, there's the gorgeous new Designer Paper, Sending Love Specialty DSP (Occasions Mini p 13) 117153 $11.95. One side of each sheet is all glittery goodness! Yummy! And it's not just for Valentine's Day, either. The satin ribbon makes it very easy to tie a beautiful knot or bow! Here we used 5/8 Satin Ribbon Vanilla  (Occ Mini p 27) 117291 $8.95.

Of course, the "heart" of this project is the Heart Treat Cups (flyer) 120435 $2.95 for 12. They match the Full Heart Punch (p 187) 113693 $15.95 perfectly!
